Position Overview
The Visitor Experience & Program Assistant plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for visitors. This position is responsible for front desk operations, social media content creation, assisting with educational programs, and ensuring the center remains safe and organized.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Administration
- Greeting visitors warmly and provide excellent customer service.
- Process admission payments and manage new membership accounts.
- Answer phone calls and provide information about programs, events, and membership.
- Maintain a tidy and organized center throughout each shift to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience.
Marketing & Social Media
- Capture and create engaging content for social media, featuring children’s activities, King Nestor, field trips, birthday parties, and special events.
- Design flyers and update the Google Calendar with upcoming events and meetings.
Program & Education Support
- Assist in facilitating educational programs, including homeschool lessons, field trips, and workshops.
- Develop lesson plans or learn provided lessons to effectively teach homeschool sessions.
- Prepare and organize materials for programs and events.
Operations & Event Support
- Take inventory of supplies and notify management of items needing replenishment.
- Assist with private events, First Friday Art Walk, and other evening activities as needed.
- Rotate Saturday shifts with other team members.
Qualifications & Skills
- Passion for working with children and fostering a love of STEM learning.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic graphic design and social media experience preferred.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable leading or assisting with educational programs.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
Work Schedule & Availability
- Must be available to work rotating Saturdays.
- Flexibility for occasional evening events.
