Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast will be hosting a talent showcase on April 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Southgate Mall. There will be entertainment from Young Audiences of Virginia, including Atumpan, The Talking Drums, and Deb Kasten performing Let?s Try On An Opera. There will also be a performance by Liberty Dancers, in addition to Girl Scout talent performances. Girls and their families can enjoy fun, hands-on activities and explore booths to learn about opportunities with Girl Scouts and community partners, including Museum of the Albemarle. This event is designed for girls and their families to learn more about becoming a member of Girl Scouts. Currently registered Girl Scouts may attend and participate by bringing a friend who registers to become a Girl Scout. Girl Scouts who add a member are eligible to receive a Power of One patch. The new Girl Scout will also be eligible to receive the patch. In Girl Scouts, there are always new opportunities for girls to have new experiences, where they make new friends, challenge themselves to try new things and have fun! This talent showcase is an opportunity for girls to build and show their courage and confidence as they take center stage and shine. This event is being generously sponsored by FOX43, WAVY-TV 10, Young Audiences of Virginia and Tidewater Family Magazine.
